Chronology
The time intervals and blocks below are approximate. Every day, new science and technology changes our perspective on the past. But also it’s difficult to squeeze so much human history into a small enough space to get the view from 50,000 feet.
Uruna’s tiny interval is that thin orange line at 3200 BC. Her culture’s entire 200-year historical awareness would fit in the yellow area.
The point of this timeline is to give you an idea of distance and compression. Consider how easily a single human lifetime is lost in the thickness of just one of these lines. This should help you appreciate how far back in time Sumerians lived, but also how much longer their culture existed than ours.
